I want the exact Dave Warhol version, so I can write music and make it sound as if it was in a game he developed. Yes that is the effect. I know it pitch slides down 28 notes.
For example:
B3 > G1 and it loops until the envelope goes to 0.
I knew you were gonna say that
There is one more voice that can be obtained that I want. Nicetas_c was supposed to get it for me or show me how to get it, but he never replied.
In Dirty Harry at the Password Screen, channel 1. It's a looping sound, I know that. He said the hex editor in FCEUX will tell you it's envelopes but I don't know if that's true because I looked at the addresses where the sounds were playing and I didn't see ANYTHING indicating the envelopes.
I don't see what the point is... you can achieve the effect already, and even make it sound much, much better than Mr. Warhol did back in the day. In fact, the Dirty Harry password screen sounds pretty awful. I'd help if I had the nsf. But my help wouldn't be any better than my last effort.
nicetas, as much as I love your music, I'm not worried about that right now. What I am concerned about it getting that sound. Please, please, tell me the envelopes for that one sound from channel 1, password screen of dirty harry...
What if Dave Warhol sent you the 5.25" floppy anyways & you get an actual drive from eBay? Floppy drive cables are still being sold with the 5.25" drive's interface connector, plus they all work as they should under windows XP (I'd assume they'd also work in Vista & Windows 7).

Or... Would you be willing to lend him your drive?
Better still, Dave Warhol can still get those units from all sorts of places; flea markets, thrift stores, electronic scrap facilities & even eBay (& the likes).
