Okay, so every time I open FamiTracker, down at the bottom on the Status Bar, it says:
"Audio buffer underrun, sound settings may be too high for this system or CPU utilization is too high."
And every time I play or enter notes, there is a short skip/click type of thing every second or so, at regular intervals regardless of when I press play or enter the note. This also somehow causes the play speed to slow down a bit, and the channels to go slightly off sync whenever it happens.
Obviously the first thing I tried was messing with the sound settings. Strangely, no matter what I change, it fixes the error (I've tried changing the Device setting and and the Frequency setting). Even more odd, though, is that the error is still fixed even if I change all the settings back to default. Why would FamiTracker not work with the default settings, but then start working with the default settings after just fidgeting with them a bit?
Yes, technically I can fix it on my own, but it's still rather annoying. This happens every time I open FamiTracker, often it takes a while before the fix works, sometimes I have to change a setting and then enter notes, or sometimes I have to change a setting and press play for a while. Sometimes it unfixes itself after I change the settings back. It's all pretty unpredictable.
Anyhow, this only started happening after I switched from XP to 7. It happens in 0.3.0 and 0.3.5. I've tried redownloading and reinstalling several times.
Not sure what to do. Can anyone offer some help?
I had to do this when I installed windows 7, somewhere around 45ms is necessary while 20ms was enough in XP. The sample rate should be the same as your card is using to avoid resampling.

20 MS is enough for XP? I have it set to the premium recommended for my sound card, 154MS and I get audio buffer underrun all the time! Though, my computer is a bit slow for 16-bit waveforms in a sound program......
