There we have it; Google to the rescue of a Google-instigated problem. (Kidding.) :P

I have a feeling that it's the type of character encoding being used by the web browser & not entirely Google's fault (even though Google Translation is notorious for massive errors).

My web browser automatically defaults to Japanese (Shift_JIS) character encoding, so it might help out if JeMappelle opens the web browser, goes to View & Character Encoding.

TechEmporium: Yeah i thought it could have been that, but then I realised that even if it was it'd still come up as Japanese on google translate.

Rushjet1: I have no idea why but the several times i tried to translate google just didn't change it.

Anyways, I've solved it now! Thanks for the replys.

I think I understand most of the rules, but some of them I can't make sense of, even with google translate. If anyone could sum up the rules for me that would be awesome.

Also I'm new here so hi! =D

Assuming they haven't changed, they're:

-You can submit up to 5 songs total, no multi-song NSFs
-You submit either covers or originals, specified when you submit them
-You specify which chips you use when you submit. Make sure to select 2a03 if you're using just 5 channels, and "Classical" if you're not using dpcm and no expansions.
-Submitting time is Aug 15-Aug31 JST, then we vote for probably 15 or 30 days after that

How do you enter? There is no entry button anywhere. Do you send an email or something?

That is a great idea! A listening party on IRC. When will that be?

I'd assume once FamiCompo's submission due date is terminated.

I have a question which has struggled me for a long time:

Why does voting replace the old marking system started from Vol. 6?

So, immediately after the files are released then. The submission deadline is "0:00 AM and Sep. 1st, 2010 (JST)" So, in US time, that's Tuesday, August 31st at 8AM PST, 11 EST. Do you think the votepack will be available right at that time? Let's all get together and listen.

What do you mean? Do you mean you like having many different categories to judge (such as technique, idea, sense, and lovin') better than just a single score?

Or in other words, does the score in Vol. 6 rely on nothing but people's votes?

EDIT: However marking + voting does not mean that the game is fair.
Example: Mini Vol. 2 original section entry No. 16

In vol. 6, you voted 0-5 i think for songs. In the other competitions you voted in four different categories for each song, like Tadpole said, which were kinda ill-defined. Covers and Originals are in separate voting sections. Expansions do not make a difference in terms of voting.

Don't know why no.16 was an example...
