As much as I agree with you, it's still one step back. What we need is to improve this project instead of letting it die out (like most things on Source Forge).

Hi! first, congrats for this new 3.5 version!
its simply amazing for live performance.(thx for including pitch bend as requested <3)

some "controlable" crashes: when i acidentaly switches channel on midi controller, and uses a diferent instrument (a channel thats not included on the selected chip, like channel 8 on FDS chip, if i play a note on the wrong channel position, it crashes.

another crash, when i try to pitch bend (on midi controller wheel) the noise channel! it cant be done, instant crash!
question: is noise channel bendable?

thankz a lot for everything!
cheers

Famitracker is skipping through my song during playback (nsf export is fine though).

At the end of a frame, the song sometimes skips to later on in the song.

i was getting something like that today. while playing the song sometimes it would spontaneously skip to the last frame. might be the same thing. i couldn't work out what the problem was anyway.

Dave, it's exactly the problem I'm having.

edit: It's been bothering me so much, I'm not using this beta anymore. Back to the latest stable.

For those of you who have been experiencing the infamous "pattern skip" bug, try changing the NOTE CUT and NOTE RELEASE keys to different keys. That seems to fix the problem. For some reason the '1' and '/' keys are bugged (there may be others).

to pose a question, is there anything being done to expand or finish off another firmware release?

Beta 4 is finally uploaded, and this is intended to be the last one if no new major bugs are found.

Like earlier, it's mostly new bug fixes. A list is included in the package. I've found and fixed a number of bugs that might have been causing some of the unexplained crashes that has been reported, however it would be good to have some feedback on this. (Famitracker will now also generate memory dump files on crashes that might be of help when debugging.)

I think I also found the frame skip problem (with help from Tadpole), but I'd like to have this verified since it's been a bit tricky to debug and only appeared occasionally (just to be sure it wasn't caused by anything else).

Droidon: I've fixed the crash bugs when bending on the noise channel or when trying to switch to an invalid channel.

Finally, I wonder if anyone else have had problems with release points in instruments disappearing from saved files on beta 3?

The source is also provided here due to demand.

Opening the Module Properties window while playing the song will force the song to play from the start of the current frame.

Thank you, jsr for making this able to open files bugged by 0.3.0 instruments AND making it able to open files created in 0.3.0. Now I don't have to use both softwares!

Hi JSR, I just wanted to thank you for posting this beta. My cover of "Zen Intergalactic Ninja Track 3" opens and plays perfectly! Once I'm finished with it, I'll post it in the "Show off your work" section for others to check out. Thanks once again for this fantastic program!

Noticed a problem in beta 4 when trying to export .wav files of projects that have frame jumps (Bxx) in them.

I have a project with two frame jumps. When Famitracker renders a .wav, it renders through the first one just fine, but for some reason always stops at the second one. Additionally, the Creating PCM File window says "Frame 29 / 19 (152% done)"

You'd have to extend the recording time in order to export to WAV files, as far as I can understand.

I don't know if that's a bug, but when I open any NSF exported from every version since 0.3.5 up to 0.3.6 b4 in FCE Ultra GX for the Wii (which does support NSF playing), I get an "Invalid filesize" error. Is there any way around that?

Also, quick request: might it be possible to include a text editor for VRC7 instruments? That could be useful for those of us who like to copy VRC7 data from MMLs to FamiTracker and vice versa...

ppMCK VRC7 instruments look like this:
@OPx = {$nn $nn $nn $nn $nn $nn $nn $nn}
where nn = any number between $00 and $FF

This might be a useful reference if you ever decide to do it.

Thanks!

JSR, when I make song with VRC7, and then export it to NSF, the 2A03 channels are overpowering. Maybe you could consider to increase the volume of 2a03 channels in VRC7 mode so the volume levels are correct in NSF

Strange; in previous versions of the beta, the VRC7 channels were more overpowering once you export an NSF.
