I like your entry, TechEmporium! But did you mean for it to never reach frame 02?

I actually realized this error 5 minutes after I posted the attachments, so I changed them to the proper thing (just before you posted your response). Go ahead & repost the attachments on your first post of this thread.

But thanks for liking what I had. Mind you, I could have certainly done better.

EDIT: I just noticed that you posted the fixed version of my entry after reading your response. Thanks for that.

Actually, it's just a link to your attachment.

Uhhh, vibrato's okay, I guess, nicetas.

Since insanity and FamiTracker coexist peacefully, there is no real difference between 'vibrato' and 'pitch envelope'.

Now I need your definition of 'non-4xy vibrato' for others who are not insane, e.g. properties like depth, rate and so on.

Also you are the only host here, so you cannot guess the rules.

i'd think a better "rule" would be don't use instruments to simulate more notes than would fit in one line

Vibrato at high pitch also simulates more note than would fit in one line, in forms of 'trill'.

Supposedly I want to make more vibratos like this to really make a song, so instrument 04 is unused.

Tech, your song reminded me of the recent suicide of a relly good POMer.

EDIT: Nevermind this post, he didn't commit suicide.

Call me old fashioned, but I have no clue what the hell's a POM or a POMer.

Anyways, I'm hoping that your comment about my song was a good thing. :P

As for the vibrato, it is technically a pitch bending effect, so I want to hear from xolroc about this. Maybe the rules should include vibratos as part of the no-pitch-bend rule.

Let's say that the pitch depth can't exceed 5.

Tech, a POMEr is just someone who uses Punk-o-matic.

So it's someone who uses a poor-man's Flash knock-off of Guitar Hero as a 3-channel tracker. :P

I just tried it & must say that there aren't as much possibilities with Punk-o-matic as there are with FamiTracker (or other trackers, for that matter). Punk-o-matic's too limited.

There are some limitations in POM2 (not pom1, though. too limited there) that make it easier. And POM2 is 4-channel.

One of which is drums.

At least with FamiTracker, you can have a minimum of 3 channels & a maximum of 10 (ignoring the DPCM & noise channels).

By importing a MIDI you can screw up the song settings, where the speed is set to 120 most of the time.

I made a blank FTM where the tempo is 1BPM, which means that every 16th note is now 0.25 minute long.

Note that the tempo still appears in exported NSFs.
