Anything goes when it comes to the type of song. However, I'd like to have a look at the original FamiTracker source to confirm that you indeed used only one blank instrument per expansion chip.
So far, it's great. But, I'm not going to log this into the list of submissions until a completed source file is uploaded (this is to confirm that only one blank instrument for each chip has been used, while effects codes are used in place of MML).
I'm actually looking forward to hearing the complete cover, though. Take your time; you have till the end of this month.

Haha don't worry, I'm not lying. I'll upload it below, I just wasn't sure if I should upload the source or not.
I'm glad, this will give me an extra boost to get myself to finish it, It might take me a while since I'll only be able to do it in my free time (Which I don't have a lot of at the moment), but I'll try to get on it.
CodeLimit; as good as your song is, my rules on the first post of this topic stated that you can only use one BLANK instrument (that means NO volume settings, duty settings or pitch settings inside your instrument). The point of this contest is so that you could use every effect available in FamiTracker instead of instrument settings. In your case, you'd have to rely more on the use of the Axx effect to alter your notes' volume fades & you need to use the Vxx effect to change your duty cycle.
KuroBit; I'm absolutely enthralled with that track! Even if you managed to take this from a MIDI file, you've still managed to pull off a wicked cover. The only problem is that it's not complete (because of this, when you go through the enitre loop, your pitch-bending effects don't cancel themselves out when going back to frame 00). I'm definitely looking forward to listening to your song.
I'm posting KuroBit's file on my first post, but I'll wait until CodeLimit corrects his module before posting it. When you both do your necessary corrections, please edit your posts & change the attachments instead of creating a new post; it saves on my having to change my links to the files & it helps ease the traffic & server space on this website).

Like I said, I would have preferred that you update your previous post instead of creating multiple posts. I'll update the first thread, but keep this in mind for next time. It's still a pretty good song, though.

Oh yeah, one-instrument compositions with no speed limit!
I am interested to take the third prize actually, but I just feel like too overwhelming at times.
I'm always interested in what you'll come up with. I'm pretty sure you'll come up with a 900 BPM VRC6 tune, with all channels using 4 effects columns.
Nothing's too overwhelming; I like to see what others come up with in situations like this.

No, 4 effect columns are not needed.
In SQ1/2 channels we only need Vxx, Pxx and rarely Hxy/Ixy. In the DPCM channel we only need Yxx and Zxx. In VRC6 SQ1/2, MMC5 SQ1/2, Triangle, Noise, Sawtooth we only need two of them; fx4 is for the who do not use 900BPM.
I love that solo in the extreme solo song :P very awesome!

Thanks! I did get a good ammount of notes from the midi, but it was based off the .wav version (Yeah, it's originally a .wav file, not an mp3 or anything...). The midi contains no effects and has different instruments. (Oh but I did leave in the piano section at the start, that part just sounds awesome, even though I can't hear it in the wav version...) Also, I'm completely aware of the effects carrying over. I didn't want to add effect canceling and forget to remove them later when I'm finishing the song, I probably could have added a Cxx though...
I have school work and things, but I'll work on it when I'm free.
Actually, I just got distracted and made a song... It came out kind of good though, so should I use this one instead? (I'd probably rather have a custom song instead of one that already exists)
