Can someone please try to explain to this humble chipist what exactly the Zxx effect is for? I have some vague idea of what it does, and I have seen it used quite a bit, but I just don't quite get how to use it and why.
Sincerely,
Modus Ponens
P.S. I'm eating some naan right now and it's SOOO GOOOOOD

Zxx changes the delta start position of anything that the row is supposed to play (if no note is input, it will change the delta start position of the silence, which can be used to generate sounds like Nicetas did). It can be used to lower the volume of certain samples (and even certain channels) and it can also be used to create audible pops in the track.
Yes, it does. But the noise channel has a volume control, whereas the triangle channel doesn't, so being able to control its volume is a nice feature to have.
