Does SSG-EG work on the Genesis? I've heard that it only worked on other systems that used the YM2612
If you send SSG-EG writes to the YM2612 it will work, independently of the system where the YM2612 is attached.

The DefleMask's feedback is awesome, so Defle 8 u13 is here:

Fixed the Waveform viewer layer order while loading instruments.
Fixed the position of the close instrument window button while loading instruments (it moves down too).
The instrument window now is 20% darker to avoid visual confusion with the patterns.
Fixed many GUI issues.
Removed a temp file creation.
Both Windows and Linux builds updated.

Yeah, it was fixed seconds after the update, I disabled the WAVE 0 of the PC-Engine for debugging. Please re-download it, now everything is fine.

Now I'd like to ask, how soon should I expect asm export for the genesis? If it's going to take like months, I'm probably not going to switch over to Deflemask instead of VGM MM and Shiru's TFD engine...I can't really work on any music for the homebrew project I'm in since I'm waiting if Deflemask is going to have asm export or not.

Well, this is an example of what you can do with the Genesis ASM export of the next DefleMask update. You can use the 6800 freely, it is awesome for homebrew apps.

Well, the ASM export is almost done, but I decided to release the update 16 because certain points of the ASM exporter will need various days of full work, so here is the Defle 8 Update 16:

NEWS:

UPDATE 16 (@ 31/10/12):
Added folder browsing/folder creation to the open/save file window, now you can arrange your files easily.
Various changes to the Files System GUI.
All the included modules now are saved in "Demo Songs" folder.
Fixed a volume change bug in the triangle channel of the Nintendo NES.
Fixed a bad initialization of some registers in the YAMAHA YM2612.
Manual Updated.
Both Windows and Linux Builds updated.

I have some requests here.

1: A function to change between noise and wave in the instruments for the PC Engine.

2: Samples for the PC Engine.

3: More than 15 waves per song on the PC Engine.

Me too!

1. Make shift+home and shift+end select the rows between the cursor and the top/bottom row.

2. An effect to use the NES's hardware pitch sweeps. Unlike what you might think they are still useful even though there are software pitch slides (1xx, 2xx etc.) because the hardware pitch sweeps are logarithmic instead of linear.

I like what you've done with the file browser! My main complaints about it were that it wasn't possible to create folders to organise your modules, and that you couldn't separate the demos from your own tracks. The new browser fixes both of these issues. Thanks! :D

You can make logarithmic pitch slides in software too, it's just that Famitracker's aren't. The hardware slides don't pop at 8-bit boundaries though.

Not 100% sure, but I think hardware sweep isn't perfectly logarithmic, just alot closer to it.

Actually it'd be amazing if Deflemask could support true logarithmic pitch effects, and maybe include the fix for boundary popping. Musetracker has those things, but is unable to export true NTSC NSFs.

Hardware sweep is a controlled by bit shift, so it is always adding some power of two division of the pitch. It's logarithmic, as precise as you can get with only 11 bits of precision.
