Yeah I saw that about the grey commands in the manual. I was just backing my statement of Deflemask being new and that it will be improved in time. But again, I am still hopeful for this tracker. All you can do is improve from here.
By the way, you really seem to be putting in alot of time for Deflemask.
Well, thanks for your feedback then.

By the way, as I said before, no matter what buffer rate I have it set to, the tracker doesn't play entirely correct. I can still use the tracker, but it really irks me hearing it skip part of a note every few notes it plays. Is it possible to have a custom buffer setting?

On Genesis or YMU759 mode?, the behavior of the sound is the same @512 and @4096 of buffer' size?.

Here using my old Code2Duo @2GHZ I can use the buffer size @512 without problems. What do you hear if you set it to 512?.

Btw, I need to add more buffer options.

It's in Genesis mode. There isn't a setting there for buffer in the YMU759. Speaking of YMU759, when I switch to 4 operators, I can't seem to scroll down to the bottom of the instrument editor.

Anyway, 512 seems to be the best option for me. Using a DAC sample so you can hear it better, the MP3 file I attached will be in order:

4096 first, 2048 second, 1024 third and 512 last. I have it set to speed 3/3 and placed a note in every space.

That is because the emulator is reversed engineered too, the buffer size, by default, is set to 1024, but so far I can't manage to change it.

Wow, thanks. This was because after coding a scroll limiter for the patterns, I didn't catch that the instrument editor is actually limited like the patterns. Bug solved, thanks.

Thanks, I will check how to obtain better buffering.

I think that in monday DefleMask 3.95 will be released with all of this bugs fixed.

Regards.

Shiru has that great tool where you can rip the VGM instruments from VGM files for use in VGM/TFM tracker. Is this implemented, or are there any plans to implement anything like this? It certainly makes obtaining a certain instrument tons easier.

DefleMask can load presets in many formats:
.dmp (native DefleMask format)
.vgi (VGMMM Format)
.y12 (GensKMOD YM2612 Dump)
.tfi (TFMMM Format)
.. And adding more is trivial.

So, if you want to use that Shiru's Tool, great. You can load those files inside DefleMask easily.

Maybe I will write a VGM2DMP someday, hovewer I think that it is time to use an universal format for YM2612 patches.

So, will MIDI importing be in the next version? I read on your site that you were working on it.

Code a MIDI importer is on TODO list, but is not a priority at this moment.
The issues behind importing a MIDI file (no pattern size, strange and custom tempos, "standard" midi instruments, etc) only creates very strange modules.

Maybe a better option is to import FTM. I reversed engineered the format earlier for a FTM->GB tool that I was coding, but almost for sure the file format has changed.

After optimizing a bit the Buffering in DefleMask, I figured out what was really wrong with it.
The next version will be fast as hell while buffering. :D

:D

After various hours of coding and debugging DefleMask, I managed to turn off the "code mode" in my head and did a little basic tutorial.

DefleMask Tracker - Tutorial 1: Basics

It is very basic, maybe it is useless for those that used a tracker before, but I decided to start from the roots.

Small request, but how hard would be to add (proper) importing of SMPS instruments? I could give a few example files; documentation is freely available on Sega Retro.
