I know! FamiTracker 0.2.2's volume levels are so jittery on playback; there's only a small handful of "effects" that only halt the track or jump frames; every effect had to be controlled through instruments; the instruments' interface isn't as friendly as newer versions...

No wonder why we have 8 newer versions of the program!

Bumparoo.

I know that rainwarrior's doing something for this contest, but is anyone else jumping on the bandwagon? Other than the obvious GUI issues with FamiTracker 0.2.2, it's fairly easy.

Okay, I finally got around to finishing my entry.

It doesn't play properly in 0.3.7b (portamento works differently) so I'd suggest listening to the NSF.

Using 0.2.2 wasn't really that interesting in the end, ha ha. It's just slower to work with.

Composing this piece was pretty weird for me though. Kind of an experiment in rhythmic dissonance... I've never written like this before, and I probably wouldn't do it again, but I liked the result.

Even though I find it chaotic (since I don't really dig dissonant styles,) it's very well done (it's a bit like The Beatles' Revolution #9, except several million times better). I'd declare you the winner here.

Would I be right in assuming you like progressive rock, rainwarrior?

Digging those time signatures. 18/8? I dunno

It's generally either 5/4 or 6/8, often both at once, and other times I just let it get unstable.

Sure, I like prog just fine.

Edit: Thanks for the compliment TechEmporium. I was most reminded of Vangelis' Main Sequence when I was composing this, I suppose.

Also, there's another 13 days left! Plenty of time for other submissions.

I don't think so... So far, we're the only two with submissions here. If only there were more incentives for the different contests up here.

I would enter, but I don't feel qualified to do anything of quality on an older version of the program...it would be an exercise in frustration for the most part, as I am just now getting the hang of the latest version!

Well its the final day...
I could not really do anything with this... considering This version is just to hard for me to use...

I covered my own song horridly.
Well an entry is an entry...

That submission's nice for an intro to something bigger. If only you had more time to expand it.
