You don't sign up. You just join the server in IRC and I'll be there.

Yeah I'd be more than happy to teach you guys. I'm on #nesdev.

This would imply that you know how to use IRC; try using Pidgin.

And don't worry about the double-post; it happens whenever the page lags after you hit the Submit button. If you try submitting again, you'll submit two (or even more) posts.

I'm not sure if it's my mouse or if it's a virus, but my mouse double clicks sometime. It's wireless though.

My mouse does that too. My computer also reads it to be going everywhere and/or clicking the right button randomly.

And, I know how to use IRC, I was just wondering if there was something I have to be involved in to get the IRC servername that the channel is on.

Join irc.esper.net then join #ancat or join irc.prison.net and join #nesdev.

IRC, indeed, uses port 6667 for all connections.

There isn't much to set up in any IRC client; all you need to do is set up your nickname, which server to connect to (such as irc.esper.net or irc.prison.net) & choose which chat room to talk in (like #ancat or #nesdev). You can then start chatting away.

You can use Pidgin (like I said above) or any other client; HydraIRC's pretty good. mIRC is alright, but it's shareware (while Pidgin & HydraIRC are both open-source). In any case, if you're new to IRC, it's best to read up on documentation.

Ok.

EDIT: Tech, I used to use XChat, which seemed to go straight to IRC.

Then you might as well read this:

http://xchat.org/docs/

Even if you have some experience (or are even an expert at IRC,) it's still good to read help files every now & then.
