what's so bad about skype?
Using it as a VoIP service to make phone calls to normal land & cell lines cost extra &, if long distance is concerned, this defeats the purpose of using an internet system to avoid long distance & normal service costs.
Sure, it's free to make calls between other Skype subscribers; the same can be said for other instant messaging applications. If Doommaster1994 & I both run Yahoo Messenger, we can both communicate with a microphone & camera free of charge, regardless of the fact that he's in the US & I'm in Canada (just like a Skype-to-Skype chat). The only difference; I can't communicate to non-Yahoo users through Yahoo (which I can live with,) while communicating to anyone outside of Skype will cost me as much as a 10-cent-per-minute Fido cell phone from the early 2000's.
That's just my own opinion.
