Are there any stand-along NSF players (or NSF playing emulators) that will let you set stereo panning?

There's NotSo Fatso, but it's a Winamp plugin, and since by default I'd rather use NSFPlug on account of its other features, it's a real pain to go in there and rename a DLL any time I want to switch. (If only NSFPlay still worked on Windows 7...)

I'm going to try that one cak!
Listening to NSFs in stereo is what I prefer, especially if there's VRC6 added! I'm really not bothered that it's not "authentic" in stereo...I get a lot more enjoyment out of the tunes when I can process them spatially.

You can also set Nestopia's audio settings to output stereo.

Another thing you CAN do, though, is install Windows XP Mode onto your system (that way, you can run NSFPlay & other older Windows programs that wouldn't work otherwise). It's Microsoft's answer to Parallels for Macs (except that it's free).

Problem with XP Mode: It requires Windows 7 Pro, Enterprise, or Ultimate. This means that computers that ship with Windows 7 Home Premium (the grand majority) cannot install it without upgrading their copy of Windows 7; a very expensive proposition.

Shoots; good call on that. But again, there's still Virtual PC Without Windows XP Mode (that, you can use regardless of Windows 7 version). And otherwise, there are other alternatives (like Sun VirtualBox).

How do you do panning with Nestopia? I see an option for stereo output, but only volume controls for the channels.

Oops... My bad; I didn't read the OP properly.

Setting stereo in Nestopia causes it to pan something like 25% left & 75% right. NSFLive's the way to go here.
