Well, let's see... If you've actually tried, do you have some kind of an FTM file to prove this? And did you know that you could open S3M files in another tracker?
That way, you could transcribe the original song note-for-note into FamiTracker. This said, you still have to figure out how to create your own instruments for this.
But believe me; it's not as daunting as you may think; FamiTracker's very easy to learn & use.
