The word noob is not really helpful, even if it wasn't directed to anyone. Best is to avoid using it.
Regarding direct memory writes, it can indeed be useful and is flexible -- but as said, it would take three effect columns to use it. Another idea is to use a single effect that's handled by the player instead, and one quick way right now could be customizing the halt command in the NSF code as it's value currently isn't used (but it would still halt the song in the tracker). Or if anyone rather wants a new command or the address write command implemented then just contact me and I can create a customized version.
