I have to wonder: if this can cause problems, then why is it the default behavior? I don't think there even is a way to input a note without inputting an instrument, so you have to have all these redundant instrument changes and then take 'em out afterward.

What I meant was using the instrument column with no note to go with it. Was that not what his file originally had?
