What do you get when you have someone whose Mac is down for the count and would still like to produce some music? In my case, it's startup failure... I'm working on trying to fix that, but until now, I succumbed to temptation to try out a Windows-only application. Don't plan on using this often, but it's nice to do something I can't do on my Mac once in a while... just that the computer I'm doing it on is not regularly used for this type of stuff.

Well... I have a Windows laptop, and I'm putting it to good use. Yes, I'm taking a step down and I am finally producing real NES music (the bad news is that if this is exported to .nsf, part of it won't be compatible with my Mac once it's back up and running if it uses expansion chips. Only some of them are supported...). I have a theoretical soundtrack under construction (at least 12 songs have been implemented), but for now, here's three tests. The test song is unfinished, and the other two are extremely short.

Starting a new project today. Proof that my biggest crutch is being used to covering tracks whose voices I can isolate. This is getting pretty tedious, but I love the tactic of "make every channel make noise to fake a fat bassline".

Great cover, icesoldier! Keep plugging at it

Here's a project I just found that I was working on on and off, hopefully I can get more headway done on it when I get a clearer head.

This wasn't worth posting a video, but here's a cover of "Pressure" on the US version of Castlevania 3.
