Welcome in the family, mate. Awesome loop right there.
I'm not very creative with names, so that's all I could think of, haha.
Thanks! I hope to learn how to be a better composer to write some stuff like the Follin brothers, but that's a long way off. I think for now I'll stick to remaking pre-existing songs in this sort of style.
Oh, by the way, I'm pretty much a dead weight when it comes to composing. I can't compose to save my life. So you probably won't be seeing many originals from me!
Glad to be aboard!
If you're up for it, studying music theory will definitely help.
I'm a percussionist who took some music theory in highschool and is now taking piano lessons (and piano theory). It's helped me out a lot tbh.
Time to play some pacman...
Edit: Uploaded a loop. Experimenting with instruments overlapping / sharing channels.

Meanwhile, I try to make the lowest oscillator in FamiTracker.
Actually, if you look at the first three columns of keys on the keyboard, that's where I got it.
I changed the arpeggio envelopes for the Triangle drum instruments and added a few Gxx commands, and I think the drums sound a bit better now. What does everyone think?
Quick update: I added a percussion track and a couple of vibratos and stuff to the theme in Milon's Secret Castle. I think it turned out okay, but doesn't really sound like Follin's style, so I'm not too happy with it. No portamentos or funky pitch bends in here. I posted it here anyway, just because I wanted to get posting more stuff. Ah, well. I'll try an original sometime soon.

I changed the volume of channel 1 from 7 to 3 at row 0A, 1A and 2A. I think it sounds better.
In Follin's Secret Castle, the bass and kick drum don't feel as smooth as Follin's. Maybe you should remove some of the kick drum notes that are too close together; just a suggestion.

I'm just experimenting right now, because I'm quite new to this, so I'm just finding some things that sound okay. Thanks for the advice - I'll see if I can do anything with some other songs.

Cool beans.
Lord take me downtown; I'm just lookin' for some Tush.
EDIT:
Decided to edit qazwsxedc's module. :3 Lengthened [strike]some[/strike] most of the triangle notes.

Here's one of the ideas I was messing around with. I was looking at some FTMs various people have posted, as well as using NSFImport and saw how people were creating delay, but was not content with offsetting notes so I looked and saw there was the Gxx effect. Experimented with arpeggios to see if it carries over to the next frame, and sure enough, it does!
I'll probably flesh out the idea later, but yeah, it's just a piece of crap right now that was intended to explore using one effect.
Glad to hear that, Mex. I guess one doesn't really know how much impact one has on people until that person has been gone for a while.

Now, golfertrytek, for the short loopey thing: you are off to a great start. The choice of drums is good (I like drums). The bass line is nice and is great for this kind of tune. The sound choices are also great. However (and maybe I am being nit-picky) there are two different things that could use some change -
1. The noise Hihat thing you have. It's solid in rhythm but a little too loud in volume. The way the volume is it draws attention to the hihat sound and drowns out the rest. Something to be careful of, and everyone makes that mistake from time to time. The key is practice, experimentation, and observation (listen to artists here - this forum is teeming with talent if you look hard enough which will drive you musically. It helped me).
2. While the bass line was good, you could bring out the bass line out by lowering the triangle wave or lowering both parts (whichever you prefer). The octave (the same note just at a lower pitch e.g. c1 and c2 are octaves of each other - just to clarify) that it is at takes away from the rest of the piece. OR what you could do is raise the melody (the heart and driving force) of your piece and leave the bass alone, giving it a nice Gameboy-ish quality. Howbeit, the bassline should at least be one or more octaves lover than your melody, otherwise it ceases to be a bass line.
Sorry for the novel there. I am probably going to expect a "tldr" message somewhere... but I DO like the loop. Keep it up, golfertrytek!
Edit: Also, I edited my Time To Leave. There was a swoopy thingy mid-loop.
