So bascially I completely screwed up on where to put the original post and now after being advised to put it here I have done so. This is my attempt at making a SID lead with N163, go nuts.
I should really think about things before I post them. -_-
When I heard joonmoon had been banned I couldn't believe it. I had an out-of-body experiance. I could see everything, but all I saw was a barren wasteland. I could feel everything, but all I felt was anguish. This experiance ended shortly, and as soon as it did I got to work.
Comrades, Friends, Brothers, I want you to finish this .ftm for me in joonmoon's honor.
I'd do it myself but I can barely type with all the grief.
The world grows dark as a monosyllabic clock ticks...
Loss...Loss...Loss...

N163 is difficult to use because it exposes you to a world of possibilities. There's a limited amount you can do with a sawtooth wave and crude pulse width modulation. There's also a limited amount you can do with a single wavetable/frequency modulation channel. But expansions like the VRC7 or N163 offer so much in terms of possibilities that it's difficult to even get started.
It's kind of like if you have a blank page of paper and you're only told to write a story, you'll probably suffer from blank page syndrome. But if you're told to follow very specific guidelines for your story (say for instance it must be set in such and such period, must follow a sonnet structure, must contain no more than 3 characters etc.) then it becomes sort of like filling a grid. Counter-intuitively, most of the time working under strict restrictions usually helps creativity.
Anyway, if you drop the DPCM channel as it is right now, your loop sounds pretty good! :)
You should probably try to force limitations on yourself like using less than x channels at first and maybe use shorter wave lengths and slowly try to use more and more. Personally, I never use more than 4 channels so I can always have max lenght wavetables while still being able to use a different wave in each channel.
