I wanted to make a punchy kick/snare, so i tried the triangle-drum technique, but used a dpcm channel instead of triangle. Please listen and tell me your thoughts

I tried covering this song because I got REALLY bored, and I find it extremely catchy.
I just can't nail down the tempo, maybe somebody else here knows a better tempo?

EDIT- I had just noticed somebody else already did a great 8bit cover on this.

Someone, please help! I'm really not sure if this is bad and dissonant or not, because with some instruments it sounds ok to me, but I didn't really stick with any scale.

I'm not sure if my opinion matters at all, but it's pretty cool, I could see it going a bit faster however and maybe add a few arps.

As for if it's bad or just dissonant, I'll say it's good and dissonant.
