Just one piece of advice, coming from experience:
If you just spam intrument markers (like holding down the 6 key in the instrument column) it will still just sound fine in famitracker, but if you want to export your songs to .nsf, it's going to cause problems.

Just thought I'd point that out. I really like your work, by the way.

Great song, but I do have one question. From frame 06 to 07 vrc6 square 2 is silent. Is it meant to be that way or did you forget to turn the volume back up.

Sorry for bumping so often. Normally I'd leave this thread be, but I don't want to be spamming new threads all the time.

Anyways, something different this time.

I've created dozens of half-finished songs over the course of the past few weeks, but I'm still having issues with volume and overcrowding, and while this one's not very crowded, it's a bit loud and I can't quite find a medium between too loud and too soft. Just a warning.

I must say I really like boots_and_cats. There's a lot of interesting stuff in there if you look past the loudness. It's very uplifting. :D

Ahah, thanks! I'm slowly working on that.

Anyway, I know the theme's a bit overdone, but oh well. Experimenting with more stuff and came out with this in an attempt to work on my volume issues.

7.ftm - I like the song, but a few things stand out here:

Try changing your FA0/FF0 combo to F06/F03 - you get roughly the same tempo without that questionable choppiness.

...and that auto-vibrato you've got in instrument 04 (don't I recognize that from somewhere? ;P)... The octave you plan on working in should determine what pitch range you want to use. As-is, it's swinging all over the place, but if you change it to something like
1 1 1 -1 -1 -1 -1 -1 -1 1 1 1
at the end instead of using 3's and 2's it won't be so wild.

Changing the pitch makes a larger, more noticeable difference in the higher octaves.

The good news is your volume control is getting better.
