For Skate or Die 2, you should record the game, not the NSF. It's one of the cases where the NSF doesn't really capture it properly.

I won an OHC over at Battle of the Bits; I thought I'd celebrate by recording all the entries on hardware. :3

Updated the OP with a recording of my OHC entry from yesterday, which I also won. o:

I haven't received any requests in a while, so I'd like to take a moment to remind you that I'm still taking requests! :D

If you're bored, I wouldn't mind another recording!

http://famitracker.com/forum/posts.php?id=3668

It's about 3 minutes and 10 seconds or so long.

Oh my! I figured you must be busy, since you said you were doing all the entries for that contest! If you don't mind, I'd love to have my other two current songs recorded as well!

They're attached and their lengths are:

Pulato - 2:53
Pazulu - 2:17

I'm pretty much done with my DemoCompo entry, and there's no OHB going on at Battle of the Bits right now. Also, I'm unmployed, which gives me a lot of free time. :p

Okay, I'll keep you posted.

I don't have anything in particular since I'm only really curious about my DC5 entry on hardware, but here's a little something. 2-channel N163 which tries to simulate the TI SN76489. The track doesn't loop, it ends with an explosion effect. (Ftm because I don't trust the nsf exporter)

Okay, I'm recording these three NSFs right now. Okay, new recordings are up now! Look for them in the first post.

Out of curiosity, Maya, why do you use a custom pitch table for your NSFs? Different temperament or..?

Yeah, it's not actually a temperament, but a form of just intonation I specifically built around the integer wavelength values of the Famicom.

Here are the ratios:

G: 1/1
G#: 16/15
A: 9/8
A#: 8/7
B: 6/5
C: 9/7
C#: 4/3
D: 3/2
D#: 8/5
E: 12/7
F: 16/9
F#: 9/5

Since it's a single just tuning, modulation can have drastic effects on the harmonies and melodies available and standard Western composition does not function properly. For instance, only 9 of the twelve keys has a perfect fifth and the distances to reach those fifths range from 6 half-steps to 8 half-steps from the root.

Anyway, thanks again!

Just to let you know, you linked the .ftm of Show Me A Moose on the first post, not the recording.

Also... Hows about recordings of the Demo Compo winners once they're chosen? :D

When you get a chance, I'd appreciate it if you could make a recording of this.

Thank you very much! You're awesome for doing this!

Unfortunately I'm having some technical difficulties with the SD card I had been using with my HFC3. Today I will go out and buy another, hopefully it'll fix the problem. In the meantime though I won't be able to fulfill any requests. :\

EDIT: Problem solved!

I was thinking of maybe streaming the entries on hardware, but I'm not sure. Maybe Dan's traditional stream would be a better idea.

I'll probably record the top three entries like I did for DC1 anyway. :)

Wally, it would help immensely if you could give me a duration for this NSF; I don't really like having to guess when to stop recording. :\ Thanks!

Sorry about that. The song actually has a stopping point at about 3:50. And once again, thank you!
