Image uploading is enabled, but *.ftm and *.nsf still not permitted types.

Now it is. Tell me if more file extensions should be permitted.

After some thoughts, permitting *.fti, *.dmc and *.zip would be useful for future content.

I have mostly finished with initial content. I have made *.ftm examples for few effects and echo (how to make echo) as demonstration how example files could be published in the wiki.

Now I think someone must write first article (or few) for the instrument database. Names of articles can be arbitrary, category and common format isn't necessary for now. After few articles we will see how to organize it better.

Yes, we should try to get some content in there to give us some ideas on how to organize things.

By the way, Shiru, how do you "sign" comments on the discussion pages so that you can see who has written what?

Type three (or was it four?) tildes. That's how I do it, anyway.

Yes, four tildes (~~~~). All changes are seen in history of each page, including discussion pages, so while discussion is short, it's easy to see who leave the comment.

here is my first contribution,
those are not perfect covers, but I did my best.
I will keep looking in my archive for other covers.
Also, David Mauro had a very authentic Castelvania cover, and Tadpole had a great multi ftm with Zelda and TNMT1.
Will see if they are cool with sending it our way.

Wait, is the Wiki page up and running? I have a few various covers that I think can be useful as examples. I was waiting to post them to the Wiki but I see some users are just posting to the forum. What should I do?

We wanted to keep the wiki location a little secret until we've been able to create a good structure. We eventually realized that it's difficult to come up with a good structure before there's any articles to structure together, so I guess it couldn't hurt to reveal the location now... I'll wait and see what Slize thinks.

I will publish a link to the wiki. But I think it is unclear where in the wiki the instrument database is located, where to upload files and so forth, but it will perhaps solve itself when it is a link to it so people can find it and start put own stuff there.

Oh, I see now. I'll just wait until the Wiki is ready then. I have only had Famitracker for about 5 months now but finding all the other instruments and files made by others really helped me get going. I think this idea of a central Wiki with company or song type organization is a really good idea.

I have uploaded covers which lpower posted here. Currently it's in simple single-article list (link is on the main page). Later it can be divided to separate articles for each game, with categories for companies, composers, etc.

Very nice. I like the explanations as well as basic example files. I know when I first jumped into Famitracker the first song I tried to cover was MM2 Bubble Man. It uses both examples of the two channel echo. If I had something like this to look at back then I would have made the cover in no time! I have some cover files I would like to contribute. How/where/when can I do that?

You can edit the cover list page and add new lines for your covers in same way like ones which already there. After this you can click on the red links (lines which you're added) and then upload page will appear.

You also can just upload files here, and I'll upload them into wiki.
