Cool! I'll just upload my files here until I am comfortable with editing the Wiki page. The first two are from the Ninja Gaiden games (1 and 2 respectively). Both are good examples of using the fine pitch effect to phase notes to sound correct. The next two are from Mega Man 3 and are also good examples of phasing when you have parts on two separate channels that have the same notes together. The final two are some examples of Yuukichan's Papa's best work, Bubble Man from Mega Man 2 and Duck Tales moon stage. Bubble Man has good examples of the echo effect (both bass and the two square channels). Duck Tales uses the skip frame and pitch slide effects and can be used as an example of how those effects are used in a song.
I certainly don't check these forums often enough!
The idea of an instrument/sound effect/cover database sounds great. I'd gladly contribute my Mega Man 5 wily stage cover if it meets your standards: http://2a03.free.fr/dl.php?file=1496
I'd just like to say that I think this was a great idea and thanks to all of you who contributed! I'm sure this will become a useful resource for beginners and as a complement to the help files.
If you see inaccuracy in the texts, edit it. If you hear inaccuracy in the covers, you can make your own with better accuracy, and then allow to use it in wiki.
I was going through a couple of the covers I submitted for the Wiki and noticed a couple mistakes. If anyone is interested: In the Duck Tales moon stage I left out a couple bass notes in 3 or 4 parts. In the Ninja Gaiden Stage 1-1 I did the echo effect incorrectly so it sounds off from the original. I have since fixed these mistakes and will attach the corrected versions with this post. I'll look for more mistakes and be more careful next time before submitting. Sorry everyone!
