Ok, so we can consider the problem solved? On my computer, VRC6's duty cycle 1 sounds exactly like 2A03's duty cycle 0, VRC6's duty cycle 3 sounds exactly like 2A03's duty cycle 1, and VRC6's duty cycle 7 sounds exactly like 2A03's duty cycle 2.

I don't use the Saw channel's duty cycles at all, it just makes it sound weird.

Correct, the cycle of the saw messes up, I only rely on proper instruments, not on effects created randomly by the program.

I think it's solved. ChipWarrior: you're welcome to start a new thread if you got more questions regarding the expansion chips.

I've made some minor GUI changes to accommodate the contrast problem, what do you think? VRC6 export was also broken and has been fixed. I'll also add an option to turn off backups, I think file saving is a lot more stable now.

I don't think additional DPCM channel is so useless. It will not affect to volume of triangle and noise, so you can use both digital drums and triangle with controlled volume changes, or you can use both digital bass and drums.
No, but the problem is that it isn't even DPCM. It's only a register directly connected to a DAC, so it cannot play samples. (Makes me wonder if it even can be considered a channel.) I have no idea what it was meant for and as far as I know no games used it. This is all the info I have on it: http://nesdevwiki.org/wiki/MMC5_Audio

A secure .NSF- export to accomplish and this program will be close to a perfect tool.

Did you do what you usually do and just replaced the file on the same url as in the first post? I don't know if I can tell there's a difference, but I no longer have the previous version on this computer, I might have overwritten it with this one. It would be great if each little update had its own version number, I think both of these last two ones are 0.3.0 beta...

It's still pretty hard to see the numbers when your eyes adjust from light on dark to dark on light as you go from the pattern editor to the line numbers. What if you bold them - both the line numbers and the channel names?

Isn't there the download page with all versions to receive?

Good work, so far! There is almost nothing left I would like to have changed.

Dafydd: Well this time it's only a beta and I'm only doing bug fixes until the proper release. (Not dozens of updates like before.)

But yeah it's the same link as first post and you probably didn't get the new one. The row numbers has the same background as before and the channel header is a little darker, I think it's better.

Ok, well, I'd still like to see one where the text in the row numbers and channel names are bolded. Although I don't see why it can't be light text on a dark background even in the row number and channel name area (or why the row numbers can't be part of the pattern editor like they used to be)

Also, you said you'd add a key combo to toggle viewing of the control panel, but I don't know what it is. If it's not implemented yet, now would be a good time

There is the configuration menu, so why don't you either use the default interface (e.g. monochrome) or change each color separately?

The color settings in the configuration menu only allow me to change the color of the pattern editor, and in this case, only the preset called "white" makes the colors consistent. But I don't like how bright everything becomes then, I prefer bright text on a dark background, like this forum.

hmm, I tried your settings and I agree, but monochrome always worked best for my taste.

Same here, but it worked even better when the row numbers were part of the pattern editor. I really like the new condensed style and how the channels all fit in the same window without scrolling even on my eee pc, but I don't see why the row numbers had to become application window styled instead of staying as part of the pattern editor.

I haven't understood brief description of MMC5 then, sorry. Well, I can assume they maybe this register to use with scanline IRQ? Don't know if it's possible to setup it to generate IRQ every 2 scanlines (to get 8 KHz output).
