I don't know what your obsession with gameboy trackers is, but regardless, in what way do you think the latest update makes famitracker more similar to gameboy trackers?
Well, just the sawtooth is similar to the quad, fish, brol etc. you can find in "Music Editor" for example, the most powerful bass line also used in game boy games many times (again I refer to TMNT 2 (GB) ).

If it comes to the crunch... you then better trust in FamiTracker!
What is quad, fish and brol? And what is this "music edtor", where can I find it?
The only channels ones I know of are square, noise and wave. Wave is customizable and as far as I know it doesn't have named settings. Though it would be pretty cool to find out what settings were used to make those sounds, there's a very cool rhodes piano/organ type of sound in TMNT1, for example.
I won't keep you updated on the N106 implementation, it's one of the expansion chips and will be added to famitracker eventually, but it could be years. It behaves similarly to the wave channel on the gameboy.
So I tried Music Editor... it's got a very confusing ui, I don't really understand it. You should try boyscout, it's much closer to famitracker's interface. It doesn't do panning, unfortunately...
Ehum... yeah, that's what it says. But it's actually a tracker and you work with the same channels as on a regular game boy. But it doesn't export to gbs as I remembered it to, only to wav... still, it can make music just like that on a gameboy, minus the panning.
No, because the NES doesn't support stereo. Most NSF players let you pan individual channels to your liking, however.
If you really want to get into gameboy tracking I would suggest using lsdj, it's pretty awesome. You'd have to run it on an actual game boy or with an emulator but it lets you do anything paragon5 can.
