it is a big chipmusic contest that happens once a year!!! there's still two weeks left as of this topic, and there are lots of formats including NES (note: the "NSF" category applies only to 2A03, anything bigger falls under the "Wildchip" category) and all sorts of obscure things. several people from here are already contestants, but i decided to put it out anyway incase people would like to join! you can enter as many entries as categories, but only one PER category (submit link here: http://battleofthebits.org/arena/Battle/1224/Submit/). a lot of really cool musicians and music is taking part but it's open to anyone! i really want to see you, the reader, join!!!
when the entries are finished (this'll be at February 2nd, 23:30 UTC, check your timezone for official time in your area), there is going to be a synclisten with all the entries, entirely from start to finish.
it will be like over three times the size of famicompo's originals group by the time entries close too lol
i prefer quality over quantity
All the more reason to submit something imo. If the "good" artists sit back and criticize while not submitting, the contest may never meet their standards. Just sayin
They should probably do something about their website as well; it's literally impossible to listen to or download songs on android. Or, well, if you skim the source and guess where the javascript player gets the mp3 from you're good to go. orz
I plan to participate with a terribad zx spectrum song, and maybe a sunvox track for wildchip since I don't have access to a real computer these days.
