The DC7756C is an un-rippable sample ROM, so the only emulation attempts so far have been to record a WAV of them and play that back from the emulator. It's just sports game sound effects, like "out!" and "safe!" and stuff like that. Some of those games were ported for the NES, and these just replaced the same thing with DPCM samples.

I don't know anything about Family Aerobics 3, just that it's another sample playing chip.

Top Gun does not have expansion audio.

Wow, interesting. Now why is it un-rippable? I'm sorry if I'm asking too much things but I'm interested in this stuff.

There's no physical interface on the chip to read the sample data. The only way that data comes out is by playing the sample, and at that point it's just analog audio.

Yeah, I understand. Now a new question:

24.- How the hell did they do in Sunsoft to halt their bass samples without producing an annoying clicking noise? I noticed this when importing a Gimmick! song into FamiTracker(of course knowing there's no 5B support in the importer). The bass didn't halt properly, and when I tried to do that, I got a click.

EDIT: Nevermind, it was a random glitch in the NSF import. Now it works.

25.- What's the difference between Clone instrument and DEEP clone instrument?

26.- Is it feasible to make the NSF import read Sunsoft 5B data(only 50% pulse) and write it as a N163 module in a new version of it, or I am talking nonsense? Of course I don't intend you to make a new version of it, rainwarrior, I was just wondering.

"Deep clone" copies the sequences (envelopes) to a new number so they can edited without affecting the old sequences.

NSFImport will no longer be worked on.

You should rephrase your questions for whenever rain starts work on a .txt export for nsfplay

I believe any exported info from a 5B could be easily text edited for n163 waves. Another use for text import/export!

The NES is capable of halting a DPCM just fine. Famitracker unfortunately pops the counter to 0 on ---. I think in the latest version === will halt without setting the counter, but that wasn't yet a feature when NSFImport was written (so it may have a pop if played back in NSFImport).

Yes, it's "feasible" to do all sorts of transformations to FTM files. I won't help you do it, personally, but the upcoming version of Famitracker has a text export/import which should hopefully make it easier to write your own text-based utilities to do these sorts of things.

By the way, NSFImport has always been open source. Go nuts. Add any feature you want.

16.- Does anyone know of a company, association, group, or whatever that exists under the name MasterSoft? Because I'm planning to make a fake software creation company once I learn programming(like JCOM Computer Productions). For example, there's a real one of them named SunSoft, where they make games and maybe something else. Mine would be called MasterSoft. At first I'd be fake, nothing big, but when it gets bigger I could create a real company under that name. If it already exists, I would say DAMN!

Yeah you might just wanna start with free software and see where that gets you.

Well, thanks to cak for helping with the Deep clone command.

And Xyz_39808 and rainwarrior, I wrote up there that I was just wondering if it was possible to read data from 5B and write it to N163 in some sort of way. I wasn't intending to make rainwarrior make a new version of NSF import. I still can't program so I'm basically in the middle of nowhere.

However, the text import would be specially useful in that way. It's just like... copy and paste??? Or changing the information in the exported module???

I find the second one to be the correct choice, or at least close to it.

But: Here's a big drawback I have seen in it:
So if it is a text import/export feature, and the NSFimport will no longer be worked, what will we do if we still want to see some specific NSFs that aren't supported by it?
[Let's guess: Screw yourself.]

Well, I'd put in some new features to the NSFimport in that case, when I learn programming maybe.

And spiderman63, maybe I should just use the name if it's not exactly the same, and I don't make anything serious out of it.

I assume that Rainwarrior's proposed NSFPlay text exporter would support everything that the current version of Famitracker currently supports, thereby obsoleting NSF Importer.

And yes, copying *insert channel here* to *insert other channel here* would be a matter of copy/pasting text, though it'd probably be alot faster to make an "automation" app for that (which is one of the advantages of having Famitracker text export in the first place).

You, you, HOW DIDN'T I KNOW THAT!? cak, thanks a lot for that! I bet that will be the solution to most of my not-really-problems.

It's included as a standard feature in the new beta.

To clarify, the new standard feature is importing and exporting a text file equivalent of FTM files to/from FamiTracker.

I may eventually write a thing to dump text FTMs from NSFPlay, which you can use the text importer to read, but it's not a priority.

I have one last question for you guys(for now):

Would anyone of you recommend using Fraps for recording videos? In the last days I have thought of creating a Youtube channel to submit my stuff. It would be nice to receive feedback from other people.

EDIT: I'm so nice that I didn't thank you all for your help so far. I appreciate it very much!
