will it contain something that will have the same sound as of NSF on the N106 in edit mode in final version? On Famitracker, it sound normal, but on NSF, it sound like nothing I heard on Famitracker.
FamiTracker emulation is closer to the real thing than what you get in most emulators. Only NSFPlay 2.3 and NEZPlug++ come close to sounding like the real thing.

Its not a bug but a feature:
How about a panning feature in the tracker (not as a effect)?
Since I'm doodling around N163 fine pitching effect to create a detune in other channels.
I dont really want to export it as a NSF to hear the effect on Notsofatso in stereo.
While I don't have a say in what goes on with Famitracker I can probable say from seeing other posts with similar requests and from what has been iterated many times on the forum, famitracker is strictly meant to emulate what the NES is capable of doing and nothing more. Thus a setting such as a stereo mixer in the settings is going to be very low priority if not never going to happen because it's not in the realms of the capabilities of the NES nor do I believe is it supported by the .NSF format.
Not sure if this falls under the realm of the beta, or a new version/feature request in general but here goes, and mods, nudge me in the right direction if I got it wrong, :d
I noticed quite a discrepancy in the way nsfPlay and famitracker handle more unusual n163 settings, like only 1 channel being used. in ft and pretty much every other emu, the overall volume of the 163 is the same regardless of number of channels used. However, in nsfPlay, the volume increases as the number of channels decrease. thus, give nsfplay a 1 channel n163 with other chips/2a03, and... the n163 completely overpowers everything else. From what I've read, this is in fact the correct behavior, so will famitracker's emulation be updated with Rainwarrior's research and findings for even more accurate emulation?
I think this is a fine place to bring this up. A standalone topic would've been okay, too.
Yes, I'm absolutely with you on that. N163 relative volume should change depending on the channel count. I hope this gets implemented in 0.4.3 (I'm tired of having people blindly adjust the mixing in their FTMs whenever they want me to record their NSF on my TNS-HFC3 :3).
I found a bug when the saw is exported on the VRC6. When using the v01 command to extend the volume range for the saw famitracker will play the note when the volume is set to zero and the V01 command is in use. Unfortunately when exported to .NSF the area that is using the v01 command with the volume set to zero will have the channel muted. Here is a comparision between .FTM and .NSF to show what I am talking about.
arfy: Discussing that here is ok. Using only one channel is louder than using more channels, that is the correct behaviour and I've found that too. However I measured this difference to be about 3dB, and that is added to the tracker already. If rainwarrior found different results then sure I'm interested in taking part of that.
But then there's the difference when using even more channels. This is not actually a difference in amplitude (as the one channel case), but because each channel gets less time to play. The problem here is that different carts had different mixing levels depending on the amount of channels the game used, to maintain a balance with the internal channels. I've added some compensation so that 4 channels and 8 channels is about equally loud for this reason, but this will obviously be wrong if anyone tries to play four channels on an eight channels game cart (for example), and then there's still differences among different carts and even different famicom models.
One better solution here is to make the mixing level configurable in the tracker, and that is planned.
Is it normal that FamiTracker creates a minidump if I close the application when a song is playing? My folders usually get flooded by those and worst of all is that they seem to contain nothing.
I just noticed another problem with 0.42. Currently if I change soundcard/buffer options in ft, they take effect just fine, but then revert to default windows mapper and buffer settings when ft is closed and reopened. This is on win 7 64-bit home premium. where does ft save config data at the moment?
