Perhaps this might be of use? I always wondered what the purpose of that would be, now I know.

cak: Actually there was a wikipedia article about Famitracker a long time ago, but it got deleted for some reason. I don't know who wrote it or why it was deleted.

Yeah; WIkipedia isn't the best thing to use since they expect all information to come from 3rd-parties who don't copy/paste any info from original sources. But it's sad how people can be so ignorant that they think FamiTracker's a virus or a file sharing program that connects to the internet. The best thing to do with people like that is to keep using the program & let them stew in their ignorance; no amount of education will teach them anything.

Also, jsr: the same thing happened to a bunch of other Wikipedia articles relating to emulators & the emu scene (even the Java-based emulator vNES was removed by Wikipedia itself for not having enough 3rd-party sources & for supposedly promoting piracy). It comes to show you how severe public ignorance actually is.

+1. Nothing can be said that hasn't been said.

"Famitracker burned our crops, poisoned our water supply, and brough a plague onto our houses!!"

It's amazing what not having enough knowledge can do to people. This program is COMPLETELY harmless.

People will blame whatever they can, as long as it isn't themselves. Trojans and a department of justice rogue and zeroaccess all got onto the computer? Must be that weird-looking program that their son is using and not the shady porn sites they're visiting (or the ads that they clicked or the email attachments that they opened or the warez they were trying to download)

It's scapegoating. [/pedantic]

But yeah, that is one big implication. (And props on using greentext right. You deserve an internet.)

I'll tell you about my parents; they don't even know how to log into their own e-mail accounts. They call me to show them, I show them & they call me a hacker for knowing how to use Internet Explorer (while having this look on their faces).

Very, very sad.

And you'd think they'd learn when you show them? Oh, no; they'll ask me again about the same thing later on & will have the same reaction when I show them again!

I'm glad I have my own computer to use FamiTrackero on, or they'd blame it for accidentally deleting C:\Windows\system32\ or something stupid.

What are you talking about? I feel like I've proven enough with this.

[ What were you all expecting? ]

I've shown my face on YouTube...outside and inside a Stormtrooper Hoodie doing some of the STUPIDEST things ever...so if that doesn't prove ANYTHING about me, look again.

And yeah...that proves it all

Somebody should make up some 3rd party references because it's pretty stupid that famitracker doesn't have a wikipedia page roflsmh.
