Since this thread is still moving along, I'll ask another question here.
With all this tilting of dpcm samples, i've found that my samples are a bit too loud, period. Audacity seems to have no idea how to deal with famitracker's converted samples, so how would you guys recommend editing them? The 'editor' window only seems to have a 'start in the center' checkbox and a 'highlight stuff and tilt towards the top' button.
I'm not entirely sure how to go about this. Any ideas, guys?
If you're using DMC rips (the Open button), then use the RJDMC tool by Rushjet1 to adjust the volume of the sample. You can even tweak the volume of individual parts of the sample, which is nice.
If you're using WAV rips (the Import button), then you could reimport the samples but at a lower gain than they were. Or you could export the samples in DMC format and edit them with Rushjet1's tool.
Alternatively, raise the volume of everything else.
EDIT: Updated post with info about RJDMC.

All right, so I've finally checked out RJDMC, and wow... it is useful...
Thank you for finally giving me a reason to try RJDMC out!
