My mistake it seemed to be the same volume while listening, I usually make my echoes some thing like this: Lead=15 volume with a bit of a slope down to lower volumes with a release before zero (you are going to want to fool around with releases they can be life savers) Echo= Same exact volume envelope as lead but in the channel effects I make the volume something like 9 values lower (this will depend on the song of course)
