I know it wasn't the best thing ever, but it was a nice feature, so why remove it?

It had been broken for years so I decided to remove it instead of fixing it.

Fixing it would be a waste of time since it never could produce anything useful anyway.

Lol. I've never used the midi importer: I've used midi files as notes, but I opened them with FL studio and imported it note by note manually.

MIDIs help a lot, but the reason why I rarely use them is because they aren't usually accurate :P
You're still better off covering songs by ear and Audacity.
