I guess it can be somewhat troublesome if you're using multiple versions at the same time, but all you have to do is open an instance of the partiular version you want to take over handling .ftm files.

I have to say these new features are pretty cool. I'll make sure to use it, and listen to things with it and report if anything goes wrong!

Case in point: 0.4.3's somewhat infamous missing-toolbar-icons bug.

Sometimes I think people like to actively look for problems.

Namco 163 during the expansion chip mounting, when you scroll less than 1-7 channels, is glitched display of tracker and frame information, when you play in this state "FamiTracker has stopped working" crashed out is.

Isn't that the whole purpose of beta testing? XD

Yeah, but seriously, folks...

It's hard for me to describe this bug, but there's a gif.
It works only in N163 1-7 channel modules.
Also, it crashes sometimes in this state.

Danm I HATE this bug. Every time I want to do a selection in my N163 channel I have to restart.

Do it with keyboard, Shift+Directional Keys.

That is the point of beta releases though.

The scrolling bug has been fixed, what's remaining is the Q/R effect issue and possibly the MIDI input issue.

And, in Namco 163, Do you have any plans to support a large waveform size than the 32 steps that went up to 36-128 steps?

But, large waveform than 32 steps beyond the 36 steps,
will not be realized only in the real machine and NSFplay.
Most of the NSF players or emulators,
is limited to the waveform of up to 32 steps.

The hardware allows it. The nsf spec allows it. It is not within the scope of this software to cater to or fix the problems of ill-suited players.

I loaded up a track of mine in the beta, and there seems to be problems when pitch macros and Qxx/Rxx effects run at the same time in the same channel, which causes notes to be out of tune. This also happens in 0.4.4. Version 0.4.3 and earlier seemed to tackle this problem by disabling the pitch macro when using a Qxx/Rxx effect.

I attached the FTM in question. Pulse channel 1, pattern position 0C and onwards is where the problem in question is the most obvious.

Maybe temporary pausing the pitch macro while the Qxx/Rxx slides occur would be a solution if it is possible to do.

I've checked this in detail now, and the difference compared to earlier versions is that Q/R effects are now cancelled when reaching the target note, something that wasn't done before. The pitch macro wasn't disabled previously, but (in part) reduced by the Q/R effect. I think the solution here is to switch to a different instrument without pitch macro when doing the slide effect.

There was also a small discrepancy between the tracker and NSF export (though barely noticeable), that has been corrected.

Was about to make a thread asking about the odd transposing selection behavior but I see its in the bug-list. thank you, and I am glad it wasn't just myself encountering this bug.

I guess with the Namco problems in 1-7 modules, we'll have to either use 8 channels (and try to reduce the hiss), or wait it out for the stable version.

Speaking of Namco, I moved around some of the wave positions, and I still hear leftover side-effects of overlapping waves (arpeggio like sounds with the same tone, sharper 25% pulse sounds, etc.).

This module should explain it better.
