I only had time for two frames, but here you go! I'll see if I can contribute more here later on.

And you know, we never did finish our last compo.

Dannngg the last team compo was amazing!! It progresses like a Mike Oldfield album or something. I'm seriously blown away, haha...8 minutes of quality NES music(never finished? I'm not sure it wants to end!)

Perhaps we can dive out of this jazzy swingy thing at some point and switch over to some rock stuff.

hey just sayin

gyms is pretty damn experienced for one, and also it's a bit late to rant about key changes when the song is in progress! just fix problems when you come across them

@LokiStriker

I think part of the fun in doing this is learning how to deal with musical curveballs. Sure we could simply correct the notes to fit in with the established harmony, but where's the fun in that? What is there to learn or discover from simply playing it safe?

That melody was MrKyurem's contribution and it's perfectly possible to restructure the harmony to incorporate it as is, I think. It's definitely a challenge to rework such a melody into a supporting harmonic framework that transitions smoothly and back again. My first attempt definitely fell short, haha. I'm certain I'll figure it out eventually though, and that it'll sound great(unless someone beats me to it!)

We have such a wide range of experience here on the forums, and I hope everyone can feel comfortable contributing without fear of getting bashed or something. Seriously, it's impossible to mess something up! You can harmonize anything.

And hey, I don't think you're being mean or bossy at all :O I'm happy that you care enough to voice your opinion! And I agree, this is certainly a team effort after all. If the general consensus is to remove or rearrange a certain thing, I'd have no objections at all.

Alright, added a few frames. Completely changed the direction of it, so I hope you guys don't mind. What do you think?

Hell yes, I love it! Great transition out of doobeedoo land.

I made a second partial-attempt at dressing up our debated frame 06 melody. Harmony and sound design are a bit more straight forward.

If i've fixed it, i've edited previous post rather that posting second. And also, i'd not changed version for just fixing an effect.
Also, i hope there'll be more of those direction changes <3
