I'm liking the hex values in the noise channel instead of note names. makes things a lot easier!

hej,

I've used several times your WIP to make some sounds. All I can say, and it's really "personnal", is that i found it nearly perfect, compare to older versions...

I had no crash since 2 months, and composing with it is really niiiice... :]

Perhaps one little thing : I preferred the old version of general parameters of the song (tempo, speed, frame, etc), free to edit with keyboard. But I think it was already mentionned...

Yeah guess it's time then.

The WIP-file is updated, and I think I'm gonna make an official release of it soon.

The NSF code is completely new, and hopefully you won't notice it other than that the files are smaller.

dachtunner: You can edit the values now by double-clicking them.

Woohoo, time to play around with it!

Great, i missed that to! Very nice, but, when doubleclicking tempo, it doesn't really work to type "180" or something. It almost always gets to 255 and never under 20.

I'll get back if I find any more bugs or suggestions. The first thing I thought of was (as I think I mentioned earlier):

* When using Edit Settings Step 4, the cursor jumps 4 steps even when using the arrow keys. I guess this fits some people, but I'm used to the old version, where it jumps 4 steps _only_ when in edit mode and writing a note. Something like "Jump only when editing" would be nice if there was an option for...

* Saving songdata. If some guys make songs with the same instruments, and then wants to merge them into a single nsf, it would be nice if there was a "save songdata" and "import songdata". I hope you know what I mean... Like that cartridge project on 2a03 where we all used the same instruments. ( http://www.2a03.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=804 )

Ehr... I don't use this param, so I didn't notice anything wrong. I think you're very close to THE perfect tracker...

One suggestion, I'm sure this is not the first time someone asking you this, but there are really no issues to make CC midi conversion of instruments, to make your tracker fully compatible with the Midines?

I can't stand FL Studio anymore to compose with my nes... :/

Hi there...

JSR > I've tested your WIP5 for a while, and it seems like I have a problem with scrolling. I mean, before this release, the mouse scrolling in the main window was quite smooth, and it's seems to be much stonger now.
Is there a way to make it sweet again?

and : Have you change something to the NSF export module??? file Weight seems to be better...

Of course, this wip was principally to improve NSF code and make file lighter

Holy cow. Thanks for pointing me to this preticular thread Rubbish! I forgot that this is where the WIPs are born.

This looks fantastic JSR!

However, I have one problem/difference that I am unsure how to correct. Maybe this is a bad habit of mine, but I use the mouse wheel in between the left and right buttons to quickly scroll up and down the pattern itself, where as now it shifts me between the frames in the frame window. Is there an option to change what the mouse wheel does?

Also, MODPLUG KEYBOARD LAYOUT THANK YOU!!!!!!! OMGOMFG!G!G!

Thanks all!

dachtunner: I don't remember changing anything related to scroll code, but can you see if it's still wrong? (link below)
Btw, I loved those songs you posted about on VORC before! =)

Norrin_Radd: That seems strange, are you sure the pattern field is selected when you're scrolling?

Kizul: I've started on VRC6 and it's still very basic and buggy so it's not enabled for this release.

About the problem: I think it's the same I've seen before, there are too many DPCM samples. When a NSF is created the samples has to be stored and aligned in a way that may use more space than the actual DPCM sample size (and causing an overflow). However it seems there was something other strange going on also so I'll look deeper into this. And yeah, I'll fix it someway so it won't be possible to load more samples than what's possible to have in a NSF.

-------

For you who missed it on 2a03.org, there is a beta of the new version now:

I was planning to release the full version once the help files was updated, but there's still some work left and now I'm going away for a few weeks (maybe I can upload it if I find a fast internet connection). However, this will be the new version.

Whoa... i checked it again and it's working perfectly for me.... I am not sure what happened last time, but it's not even happening when I select the frames and use the mouse wheel. Perfect!

Well, I have no complaints now. This WIP is my lord and master! Thanks for making it JSR!
