I was wondering when someone would catch that... :p
The first v0.3.8 beta exists already, with partial N163 support - it just isn't available to the general public yet. There are too many things that still require improving, some missing features, the instrument editor layout isn't final, etc etc. Saving anything N163-related is disabled, NSF exporting is flawed... It's not ready yet. But it should be pretty soon, according to what jsr told me.
No promises though.
You'll also be pleased to know that other cool features not related to the N163 will also be introduced in v0.3.8.
EDIT: Here's an MP3 of my first N163 tune in FamiTracker (WAV export works just fine).

Hey, turns out I was wrong, NSF export does work! However, the N163 won't play when using anything that's based on the GME libs (foo_gep for foobar or modizer for iPhone, for instance). Nothing at all will play in VirtuaNSF. NEZPlug and NSFPlay seem to work just fine though.

So in other words, it's almost there, but it needs some polishing? Take your time, it sounds like it's going to be great. Thanks for the update!

jsr recently gave me the N106 version, too.
He said he was intentionally planning to release it to everyone but he's just been busy.
There are two catches to this though:
He said the NSF export for N106 isn't 100% finished and you can't save/load N106 instruments or songs.
(He told me technically you could but in case something goes wrong)
I would upload it, but the executable is too big. He did give me a link though.

Yeah he told me the same, more or less. I was the first one to get it, and I pointed out most of the bugs (there weren't nearly as many as in other betas, which is a good thing!). He said he never intended me to get all the workload of beta testing, and that he'd soon release it to the public after polishing it a bit.

Yeah, that about sums up what I said in another post a bit earlier, except he said N163 saving was disabled until the final instrument layout is decided. I don't think it'll receive any further changes though, but I could be wrong.

I have the link, but I'd just wait until jsr decides to make it public, just in case.
Fff I'm going to have to update the NSF importer too.
I guess I could test it too. I have access to the code and could build it myself. I hadn't bothered yet... I was never terribly interested in the expansions anyway (and the N163 least of all). Maybe I'll give it a whirl today.
