That's interesting to know, but then again, a note cut is the same as Z00 & Z80, as you said. Doesn't that technically mean there's no volume change when a note-cut is used?


No, that's only true when xx > 7F.

Therefore, when Z00 or Z80 is present, the volume is at its maximum, meaning that this is the effect of the note cut.

Thanks for that; I mis-worded my last post. Z00/Z80 is equivalent to a note cut (i.e.: negating the Z00 effect & bringing the volume to its maximum, as normal).
