Harmony seems to be one of the simplest parts of music that many people have difficulty wrapping their heads around; it especially helps not only to practice, but also to study such things as major/minor scales & arpeggios.
Arpeggios, when combined with musical major/minor scaling theory, can be a bit challenging, so basic practice like this can help you to prepare for such things in the long run.
